Carbon Footprint

Reducing our carbon footprint is crucial to preserving the planet for future generations and we as a company are committed to driving down our own emissions of CO2.

Maximising Efficiency in Our Fleet Management

As part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint Neopost has strived to maximise the efficiency of our vehicle and travel policy.  Managing our fleet has become an increasingly large priority as we aim to drive down CO2 emissions and according to our latest report, our initiatives are paying off.

Increased MPG by 20%

A key strategy has been the use of more fuel efficient Peugeot vehicles, winners of the Green Fleet City Car Manufacturer Award in both 2011 and 2012. These vehicles have helped increase miles per gallon by almost 20% over the past 4 years.

It is not purely about MPG however, our engineers in London use vehicles with sub 100g/KM CO2, which actually have a lower CO2 emissions that some hybrid vehicles.

Intelligent Route Planning

It’s not just greener technologies however that are making a difference. Neopost field based drivers now plan journeys more intelligently, a behavioural change that has seen the miles travelled by our operatives reduce significantly since 2009. The Peugeot fleet vehicles have also helped our drivers to plan their journeys as they come with Bluetooth and SatNav as standard.

This has resulted in a steady decrease in the quantities of fuel (both diesel and petrol) consumed by over 50,000 gallons.

We’ve also been focussing on reducing the size of the fleet and to date have achieved an 18% reduction in the number of vehicles. Neopost drivers also have the option to use their own vehicles on a payment in lieu (PIL) scheme – as long as their vehicle meets suitability and CO2 emissions standards.

Energy Management

We aim to improve the energy efficiency of our services. Largely thanks to the user-friendly sleep mode, our new machines consume up to 50% less energy.

Our IS range of franking machines have been awarded the prestigous Energy Star certification, which sets the benchmark for evolving government regulations.
