Christmas is undoubtedly a time of traditions and we do love to celebrate the season in familiar and comfortable ways. So much so, that the tradition of sending and receiving Christmas cards has endured for over 170 years. The first card was commissioned back in 1843 – then, a mere 1,000 were printed but now Royal Mail delivers millions of cards every festive season.
When it comes to card design, it seems we’re also a fairly traditional bunch. While 12 percent of research respondents like a humorous card, snow scenes are favoured by nearly a quarter of people.
