So much so, that the tradition of sending and receiving Christmas cards has endured for over 170 years. The first card was commissioned back in 1843 – then, a mere 1,000 were printed but now Royal Mail delivers millions of cards every festive season.
When it comes to card design, it seems we’re also a fairly traditional bunch. While 12 percent of research respondents like a humorous card, snow scenes are favoured by nearly a quarter of people.
