Stand out with better quality printing

03/04/2020

Today, business is conducted at a faster rate than ever before. When timescales get squeezed, sometimes there isn’t time to involve suppliers in activities like print runs. Yet, companies must present a professional image in everything they produce. The equipment they use must deliver high-quality results, and it must do so at speed and to specification.

Printed mailings continue to form a significant part of a company’s total outbound communications. They take a variety of forms - from brochures to mailings to promotional materials, physical communications come in a range of shapes and sizes.

It isn’t unusual for high-quality printing to be needed at short notice. When this is the case, the speed and quality of the office printer must be up to the job.

Neither does printing end with the content of communications. The envelopes those messages go into also need the professional touch and they too come in a range of types, from standard to padded.

Of course, not all printed material leaves the company. Lots and lots of working documents intended only for in-house use stack up on office printers far and wide. With these print runs, the top priority probably isn’t quality - it’s more likely to be speed and cost. After all, no company wants to drain its ink printing agendas and drafts.

Flexible printing for quality and speed

Taking the many varied demands companies place on their printers into account, five factors should be considered:

  1. Flexibility: companies enjoy maximum flexibility if the printer can support a wide variety of media without loss of print quality: from plain paper to packaging board, from mailings to promotional items and from standard to padded envelopes, including stuffed envelopes
  2. Adaptability: a choice of modes, depending on whether the need is for speed and less ink or higher quality printing, gives companies options and helps them manage the cost of supplies
  3. Professional quality: with the ability to print high-quality, full colour reproduction including full-bleed (edge-to-edge), companies have the capability to produce mailings that convey the right image
  4. Capacity: standing over the printer and having to reload paper or envelopes isn’t ideal in busy offices. The capacity to hold hundreds of envelopes for printing streamlines those busy print runs
  5. Usability: the printer should be easy to operate with a large, intuitive interface, simple navigation and system alerts.

Busy offices handling a range of printing requirements need the flexibility to be able to produce high quality print at short notice. In this, the choice of printer is a critical one. For more information on digital colour printers, find out how we can help.
