Ascom Hasler Withdrawals Banner

The Ascom-Hasler franking machine which you use for your postal needs has now been in the market place for more than 15 years. As a result of age, it has become increasingly difficult to source spare parts for these machines and in addition, most versions will not allow a date stamp beyond December 2012. For these reasons, Neopost have taken the decision to stop the technical support of all Ascom-Hasler franking machines from midnight on the 31st December 2012. This decision also means that the facility to re-credit machines will cease from that time.

As a valued customer we want to ensure that you fully understand what this decision means for your business and we would like to discuss these options available with you.

Ascom machines in Northern Ireland, which are serviced and supported by our Authorised Partners, will continue to be re-credited by our Credifon system.

Q1. Can I use my machine to frank post after the 31st December 2012?

The significant majority of Ascom Hasler machines have a date barrel which adjusts each day to reflect the current day/date. Due to the age of these machines, the barrel will reach its last available date on the 31st December 2012 at which point the date will remain static. It is a breach of Royal Mail regulations to send out incorrectly dated franked mail. Back to top

Q2. The date barrel in my machine does extend beyond 2012, can I still use it?

If your machine can continue with the correct dates then you can continue to use it, however, if anything should go wrong with it we will be unable to provide technical support. We are concerned with the age of all Ascom-Hasler machines. They have been an excellent and reliable product over many years, however, the chances of breakdown increases with age and we simply cannot source the necessary parts to continue to repair them. Back to top

Q3. If I continue without technical support, can I keep topping-up the postage credit?

The latest date you will be able to top-up your machine will be the 31st December 2012 after which time, no other monies will be able to be downloaded. Back to top

Q4. How can I get a refund of any outstanding postage credit on my machine?

To receive credit on money already paid to your machine, we will need to collect the machine,  take meter readings and then inform Royal Mail. They in turn will send payment to you, generally within 28 days. Back to top

Q5. How will I get a refund of money paid into my Credifon account?
