Could unscreened mail pose a risk to your company and employees?


Reported in the news recently have been incidents of exploding items of mail received in the post. Seven devices have been sent in England and Wales in the last few weeks. All incidents have included injuries to employees and an evacuation of the building and surrounding area.

A primary school caretaker has been arrested in connection with these attacks, however police have warned that they cannot guarantee that there will not be another one - source:news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6375131.stm

A Parcel Bomb exploded, injuring at least one employee.


Tuesday 06/02/07: Vantis Plc, Berkshire*
Two men received injuries after an item of mail ignited.


Monday 05/02/07: Capita Group, City of London*
A package exploded in an office worker's hands when opened.


Saturday 03/02/07: Private Household, Kent*
A security company manager was injured after collecting his business mail and opening it at home.


Thursday 18/01/07: Cellmark, Oxfordshire*
Upon opening, a nail bomb exploded in an office worker's hands.


Thursday 18/01/07: Forensic Science Service, Birmingham* A package was received which ignited


Thursday 18/01/07: LGC Forensics, Oxfordshire* A suspicious package was received, but luckily the device failed to explode.
